MaitriVihara Reiki story is simple. I began to intuit new symbols some time after my third level Karuna Reiki initiation almost two years ago. This creative process intensified during a trip to Macchu Picchu in Peru (during the Fall Equinox of 2000). While meditating there, I felt a profound connection to the God/dess & was guided into developing my own system of subtle energy healing with a Reiki base. As such, it is a prerequisite to have already been initiated into the Shinpiden level of Usui Reiki.

Maitri Vihara comes from Sanskrit and simply means the abode of love.

It is an age old fact that sounds, colors, scents, geometric shapes &/or specific symbols and, even physical postures, help each individual awareness to access specific frequencies, which, in turn, can provoke a diverse range of states of consciousness. Because we are condensed units of awareness swimming in a Cosmic Ocean of energy, these frequencies Interpenetrate our being at all levels of density.

Maitri Vihara focuses on the inner journey towards healing (at each of these levels) through the ever-unfolding expansion of consciousness. By first balancing and focusing your compassionate awareness, you will perceive that these symbols serve as catalysts for subtle energy frequency shifts. They also serve to empower by working as constant reminders of the interindependence of each individual wave in the Cosmic Ocean.

It is my conviction that Maitri Vihara Reiki's role is that of serving as one more step along the path of conscious awareness of our reality as multi-dimensional Selves. Maitri Vihara Reiki symbols may even help to activate & accelerate dormant DNA strands as appropriate to each person.

This is because a symbol is an extremely powerful form of visual language, which creates a diversion for the ego in order to allow the Self to interface with the creative source of the Universe. At this implicate order (borrowing physicist David Bohm's term for the interconnected Cosmic Ocean); our individual consciousness & frequency signature undergo an expansion process or "awakening". This expanded or accelerated frequency will eventually overflow into all your bodies (from the most subtle to the most dense), creating changes in the mind-body synergy.
